Bus rob leader nabbed

The leader of a bus robbery gang, operating on EDSA and Quezon Avenue, was arrested during an operation in Quezon City the other night.

Joselito Oliquaino, 20, a member of the Bahala Na Gang was arrested by elements of the Central Police District-District Police Intelligence Unit (CPD-DPIU) in his hideout at Sitio San Roque, Barangay Pag-Asa, Quezon City.

Chief Inspector Anthony Rodolfo, CPD-DPIU chief, said Oliquiano was arrested by policemen after he was identified by some of his victims through a photo gallery. A week of surveillance led to the arrest of the suspect.

Records showed Oliquiano and his group robbed passengers and the bus conductor of a Dream Line Bus on July 11 at the corner of Edsa and Quezon Avenue.

The same group was also behind another robbery last Aug. 26.

The gang leader, is facing murder charges, since he was also identified by witnesses as the one who killed Franciso Aquino, of Sitio San Roque, Pag-Asa, Quezon City, in August. He is also facing charges of frustrated murder for nearly killing his neighbor, Felicisimo Sanson last Aug. 2. – Pia Lee-Brago
