Elements of the Western Police District are tracking down the alleged mastermind and the gunman in the murder of a Filipino-Chinese restaurateur in Sta. Cruz, Manila last Sunday.
This, after the two sons of victim Benjamin Leung, 73, yesterday went to the office of WPD director Chief Superintendent Avelino Razon Jr. to coordinate with police investigators.
Leung was the owner of the popular Wah Sun Cantonese restaurant at 747 F. Torres St. where he and his sons also resided. The victims sons, Benjie Leung, 32; and his brother William, 38, identified the alleged gunman as Eduardo Aparri and the alleged mastermind as a certain Delio Basilio.
According to the brothers, Eduardo Aparri, alias "Bodabil" of Torres Bugallon street in Tondo, and Basilio, were frequent customers of their restaurant. Basilio was even known in the area as a buyer and seller of stolen jewelry.
The Manila Police last Tuesday afternoon arrested Edilberto Aparri in his Tondo residence. The suspect, brother of the alleged gunman, reportedly acted as the "lookout."
Razon, however said that Edilberto Aparri is invoking his right to remain silent. Aparri has been charged with murder in the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
