Accountant hangs self

A Certified Public Accountant committed suicide the other night by hanging himself inside a rented room in Quezon City.

Guillermo Paray III, a native of Davao City, looped a nylon cord around his neck and tied it to a wooden beam of the room. The body of Paray was discovered by his boardmate Crisanto Mirafuentes at about 8 p.m. when he returned to their room after buying food for dinner.

Probers said Mirafuentes left the rented room at 50 Asset st., GSIS Village, Project 8, Quezon City at 7 p.m. and told the victim that he would buy food for them. Mirafuentes noticed that the victim did not respond and remained silent. He said he was surprised to see the victim hanging when he returned.

The victim’s boardmate rushed him to the Quezon City General Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival. – Pia Lee-Brago
