Makati police chief, Superintendent Jovy Gutierrez, identified the fatality as Ronilo Sanchez 38, of 622 Aeta St., Tondo, Manila. He succumbed to two gunshot wounds in the body.
Injured were Joel Sanchez, a resident of Acacia street, Pembo, Makati, who sustained a stab wound in the chest; Rodolfo Sanchez, 34, of the same address, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds was taken to the Rizal Medical Center; and SPO3 Amadeo Saring, assigned with the Makati police anti-car theft unit, who sustained a stab wound in his abdomen.
Investigator PO3 Allan Esquillo said the incident occurred at around 12:45 a.m. along Sampaloc street, Pembo when several male members of the Sanchez family engaged a group of still unidentified men in a street brawl.
Saring was among barangay tanods and policemen who tried to stop the fight.
Probers said the injured Sanchezes were "not cooperative" when questioned by police investigators about the incident after treatment of their wounds.
Police investigators have yet to determine the cause of the rumble and the identities of the men who fought with the Sanchezes. Rainier Allan Ronda
