Japanese faces rape charges in Las Piñas

A 61-year-old Japanese national is now being hunted by operatives of the Las Piñas police after his 27-year-old landlady accused him of raping her twice on separate occasions.

Police identified the suspect as Takashi Nishino, 61, of Mitashi, Ibarki prefecture, Japan, and presently billeted at 493 A North Twelve St., Angela Village VII, Talon 4, Las Piñas.

The manhunt for the suspect was ordered after the victim filed a complaint before the Las Piñas police investigation office.

In her complaint, the victim said the first rape occurred on the night of Aug. 21 when Nishino, allegedly reeking of liquor, barged inside her house when she was all alone and sexually abused her twice.

After the rape, the victim said Nishino apologized and offered to pay her $1,600 if she will not report the incident to the police.

Wanting to avoid a scandal and embarrassment for her, the victim said she relented. However, the victim said the suspect again raped her last Oct. 13.

Not wanting the incident to be repeated, the victim said she decided to report the matter to the police. Nishino reportedly went on hiding after learning that the victim filed a complaint.

Meanwhile, a security guard is now fighting for his life in a Quezon City hospital after he was wounded when a service firearm of his fellow security guard accidentally fired.
