Unidentified woman found dead in wharf

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - An unidentified woman was found dead in an abandoned wharf at Barangay Canjulao in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday dawn.

Police Officer 3 Lydo Pinos, homicide investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said the woman had stab wounds below her left breast and her left hand. “A fisherman reported to us yesterday about his discovery,” he said.

Roland Berame, a resident of the barangay’s Purok Sambag, told the police he was heading to the shore sea at around 4 a.m. when he saw a lifeless body lying on a rocky area of the wharf, prompting him to report it to the police.

The police described the woman as about 30 to 35 years old, five-foot tall, fair complexion, wearing jeans and a white shirt with long sleeves printed with tiny strawberries.

Pinos said there were no identification cards, wallet or even bag from the woman’s body. He could not even surmised that she was raped because her clothes were intact. “Maybe she was robbed,” he said.

“We are conducting a follow-up investigation to the incident and possible identification of the victim and her killer, he said, adding that the body has been subjected to autopsy.—Christell Fatima M. Tudtud/RAE (FREEMAN)
