Man wounds his cousin in stabbing
CEBU, Philippines – A 40-year-old man was wounded after he was stabbed by his cousin in their premises in Sitio Magay, Barangay Tanke, Talisay City on Friday.
The victim, Ronilo Masangque, single, sustained a stab wound on his back.
Police identified the suspect as Ernie Delfin, 22, single, resident of said place.
Senior Police Officer 1 Mikie Espina, investigator at Talisay City Police Station, said the victim and the suspect were having a confrontation regarding a theft incident that took place inside the house of the victim.
Masangque reportedly believed that his cousin, Delfin, was the one behind the stealing. He then asked his cousin to get out of their premises and to never come back.
However, this allegedly enraged Delfin so he grabbed an ice pick and attacked the victim, hitting him in the back.
The suspect fled while the victim was rushed to Talisay City District Hospital.
Espina said a hot pursuit was conducted for the possible arrest of the suspect. (FREEMAN)
