Mandaue City employees to get bonuses on Charter Day
CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government will be giving cash incentives to city workers as part of the activities lined up for the 46th Charter anniversary on August 30.
Association of Barangay Council Federation President Ernie Manatad, who chairs the Charter Day activities for this year, said City Councilor Diosdado Suico has drafted an ordinance which grants employees cash incentives during the occasion.
Once the ordinance will be approved on third and final reading, the city’s 500 regular employees will each receive P10,000 while job order workers will get P6,000 each. Clean and Green and the barangay health workers, meanwhile, will each be entitled to P4,000 in cash incentives.
Michelle Apple Yu, the city’s human resource management officer, said aside from plaques, additional cash incentives will also be given to those employees who will receive recognitions during the Charter Day celebration.
The awarding ceremony will be held on August 30 at the Mandaue City Heritage Plaza.
Among the highlights of this year’s month-long Charter Day celebration are the Taxpayers’ Night and the Employees and the Barangay Officials Night.
Other activities include Trees Brew Life, a tree planting activity on August 1; Beautify Mandaue, a city-wide cleanup initiative, on August 6; inter-department sports opening salvo on August 7; Mandaue Business Summit, August 14; Charter Day exhibit at Parkmall, August 17; Comelec off-site registration and Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry event, August 22; Festival of Talents and Bibingkahan sa Mandaue, August 26; Mandaue City Trivia, Declamation Contest, Oratorical Contest and Barangayan Night, August 27; Rockfest and Tigi sa mga Duwang Kinaraan, August 28; and Drum and Bugle Battle Royale on August 29.
