Robbers prey on collectors

CEBU, Philippines – Two collectors of a lending company based in Juana Subdivision in Barangay Banawa, Cebu City were robbed near Umapad barangay hall in Mandaue City yesterday noon.

Romeo Japson Jr. and Jordan Glimada, collectors of El-J Lending, reported to the Opao Police Station that two men onboard a red XRM motorcycle stopped in front of them, aimed a .38 caliber revolver at them and announced the holdup.

The suspects were able to cart away their collections amounting to P5,700 and a cellular phone worth P1,700.

They then fled toward the Pajara Park under the Marcelo Fernan Bridge.

Police are still conducting a follow-up investigation for the possible identification of the suspects.
