Son sees pa kill himself

CEBU, Philippines – A 36-year-old jobless man allegedly committed suicide by tying his neck with a shoe lace and attaching it to a decorative hook inside his room in their house in Ceniza Compound, Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City on Sunday morning.

Adonis Arrofo, 36, married with three children, was already kneeling on the floor lifeless when found by his family members at around 7:25 a.m. last Sunday.

The Investigation and Detective Management Bureau  said the victim’s 8-year-old son even saw his father take the shoelace from his shoes and start tying it on his neck.

The son got himself shocked to see his father tying the shoelace tightly from his neck and attaching it to a hook embedded in cemented post.

The son immediately shouted for help and his two other siblings then came, rushing inside the room.

PO2 Eleasar Ramil, investigator of the case, said the victim and his wife just  separated recently.

The couple and their children live in the parents of the victim but because of their constant quarreling, PO2 Ramil said, the victim’s parents told his wife to just leave their house.

During an ocular inspection, a letter that was addressed to his wife was found. In the letter, father pleaded to his wife to return home.

The victim’s body was subjected for autopsy.
