Fil-Jap arrested in drug bust

CEBU, Philippines - The anti-illegal drug team of Lapu-Lapu City seized 36 small sachets and a medium pack of suspected illegal drugs from a Filipino-Japanese national in Sitio Soong, Barangay Mactan on Wednesday evening.

Masanori Dungog Sushi, 27, resident of Sitio Sea Breeze of the same barangay, was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Mactan Police Station 2.

Senior Inspector Verniño Noserale said prior to the arrest of Sushi, a two-week surveillance was made in the area.

A police officer pretended to be a customer that evening and requested to buy drugs from Sushi in exchange of P200 marked money.

The poseur buyer then arrested Sushi and the money recovered after the sale was consummated, according to Noserale.

Aside from the recovered marked money and illegal drugs, alleged proceeds of Sushi's drug trade were also confiscated, along with drug paraphernalia.

Sushi will face complaint in relation to Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Acts of 2002.  (FREEMAN)
