Tricycle driver shot

CEBU, Philippines – A tricycle driver was wounded after he was shot by two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle in Barangay Gun-ob in Lapu-Lapu City around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Reymund Amistad, 46, was already heading home in Sitio Iba, Barangay Basak while riding his tricycle when two men suddenly appeared and fired at him.

Police Officer 2 Jerson Alparito of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office- Homicide section said that Amistad was hit in his chest and the bullet went directly to his ribs.

The suspects immediately took off and eluded the responding police officers.

The victim was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital and was later on transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for further medical attention.

Police officers are still conducting a follow-up investigation for the possible arrest and identification of the suspects. — /ATO
