Cyclist killed in road accident in Mandaue
CEBU, Philippines - An unidentified man met his sudden death while driving a bicycle on the street after he was run over by a prime mover truck along Plaridel Street in Barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City last Wednesday evening.
The victim who is believed to be in his early 30’s was wearing a green T-shirt printed with “Adidas” with a large No.76 and was also wearing a white basketball shorts with a tattoo in his upper right arm marked with a word “Buenaflor” and an octupos drawing below the name.
Mandaue Traffic Division Office Traffic Investigator PO2 Sabdane Tradio said the victim tried to overtake the slow moving prime mover truck towards left but suddenly blocked the truck’s path.
Authorities are yet to identify the man whose dead body was brought to the Rolling Hills Memo-rial Funeral parlor while waiting for his family members to get him.
The police identified the truck driver as Ruben Santillan, 36, resident of Sitio Aroma, Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City. He was driving the truck bearing plate number GXM 200. He is currently detained at the Subang-daku Police Station while waiting for charge of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide to be filed in court.
