2 nabbed for guns

CEBU, Philippines -  Two men were arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Cebu City and province on Friday midnight.

Victor Granada, 34, of Sitio Lubi, Barangay Luz, Cebu City was arrested by the police during an Intensified Police Operation against all forms of illegal activities.

Initial investigation revealed that the police were roving at the said place when they spotted the suspect with a .45 caliber revolver.

Also, another man was arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Barangay Taytay, Danao City on Friday.

Jupiter Rosales, 31, of Barangay Taboc Camaligbato, Danao City was arrested by Danao police after a concerned citizen reported him carrying a gun near a gas station.

The police immediately responded to the said place. Upon arrival, they immediately spotted Rosales who tried to run away upon seeing the police.

The police managed to chase and held the suspect and confiscated from his possession a .38 caliber revolver with three live ammunition.

The suspects will be facing charges in relation to RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.  (FREEMAN)
