Mandaue honors top taxpayers

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government honored 41 top taxpayers in the city during the Taxpayer's Appreciation Night held at the City Sports and Cultural Center last Friday evening.

Vic Enterprises, Visayan Electric Company, Everjust Realty Development Corp. and Lucy Pharmacy  are this year's top taxpayers in the different categories set by the city government while Wilson Ng topped the individual taxpayer for realty tax.

Vic Enterprises topped the business  taxpayers for sole proprietorship while VECO led 11 top corporate taxpayers.

Everjust Realty Development Corp. was ranked no. 1 in the business taxpayers for realty tax while Lucy Pharmacy also topped the taxpayers for business operating since 1969 when Mandaue City first became a city.

Other awardees in the business taxpayer's for sole proprietorship were Ride's Enterprise, Dynamic Castings, Waterborne Freight Forwarding, SVD Design and Build, MGMM Freight Forwarding, Alrey Cargo Forwarding, Marides Marketing, PLD Construction and Wintrey Enterprise.

Other awardees for top corporate taxpayers for realty tax were Cola-Cola Bottler's Philippines, San Miguel Yamamura, San Miguel Brewery, Vicsal Development Corp., J. King and Sons. Co., A.D. Gothong Manufacturing, Golden Gates Values, Taipan Development Corp. and the San Miguel Corp.

Other awardees for the top 11 corporate taxpayers were Zuellig Pharma Corp., Adnama Mining Resources, J.S. Unitrade Merchandise, PMFTC Inc., Coca-Cola Bottler's Philippines, Aboitiz Construction Inc, United Laboratories, Super Metro Gaisano (Vicsal Development Corp), Monde Nissin Business Corp. and Kareila Management Corporation.

Other awardees for the top ten invidividual taxpayers for realty tax included Erramon Aboitiz, Joseph Alquizola,Kin Kee Ko,James Yu,Hyman Yap,Jayme Casera,Raymond Ong,Hnery Cruz Ongtauco and Peter Yap.

This as the city  government also gave  recognition to other  taxpayers who have been operating in the city since 1969 and they included Suson Lumber, Gal's Bakery, Simon Enterprise, Querubin Construction Supply, San Muguel Corp, YY & company, San Miguel Corp. and Republic Corrugated Cartons.

Mayor Jonas Cortes in his speech during the event said that the city has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the city's taxpayer whom the city has considered its partners in the pursuit of the city's vision .

"Your singlar act of contributing to the city and paying taxes honestly is one of the ultmate expressions of the brand of service called I am Mandaue",Cortes said in his speech . (FREEMAN)
