Another LBC outlet robbed; P15T taken
CEBU, Philippines- An LBC branch in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City lost P15,000 in cash to robbers who pretended to be customers past 11 a.m. yesterday.
The two suspects were also able to cart away a mobile phone worth P9,000.
Only two employees. Investigation revealed that the courier branch only had two employees, one of whom went out to buy food for lunch, when the suspects entered the establishment.
According to Senior Police Officer 2 Marcos Noval Jr., investigator at the Investigative and Detective Management Branch, it was only Queenie Pie Diaz who was left inside the booth when the incident took place.
Diaz said the first suspect, who was wearing helmet and shades, just coolly took a seat beside an unsuspecting customer while the other suspect, wearing a plain shirt, went inside her cubicle and whispered to her "Tulis ni, hain ang kwarta?"
The suspect then took P6,000 cash in Diaz's drawer and another P9,000 cash and an LG phone from the drawer of Sheila May Uy, who was out to buy food for lunch at that time.
After taking the money and phone, the suspect "dragged" Diaz to the comfort room and before he left with the other suspect, he was also able to take the P300 cash inside the bag of Uy which was open during that time.
The suspects hurriedly left the place onboard a red Honda XRM motorcycle.
"Sayon ra gyud kaayo ni silang sudlon kay ang pultahan sa ilang front desk above the knee ra unya gilakang ra man gani ni sa suspek pag-adto sa cubicle ni Queenie," Noval said.
No commotion
A customer who was inside the establishment when the robbery took place told Noval that he didn't notice of the commotion as he was busy texting although he noticed that somebody sat beside him but that he could not recognize the face.
The customer said he only learned of the robbery after the suspects left when Uy told him they were robbed.
"Niingon sad ni si Uy nga paspas ang panghitabo kay wa ra gyud siya'y five minutes nga nigawas aron mopalit og sud-an samtang duna sa'y manindahay sa gawas nga miingon nga dugay na daw to silang nag-posting sa gawas," Noval added.
It was learned that the CCTV camera of the said establishment was down during the incident.
Police also noted that the same branch was victimized by robbers in November last year but the establishment still failed to employ a security guard.
LBC Subangdaku has been the sixth LBC outlet to be robbed this year in Cebu, the most recent being their outlet along Escario Street, Cebu City which lost some P10,000 to two men last August 14.
