Boss 'loses' P60T to applicant

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  An owner of a security agency in Consuelo Village, Barangay Basak, Mandaue City reported to the Basak police Tuesday that his cash in his office table was carted away by a man pretending to apply as a security guard.

Herminio Escoton, owner of Golden Sun Security Agency, personally went to the police station to report that he lost his P60,000 cash to a certain Jovie Seregulles, 25, married and a native of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental based on the biodata he submitted.

Escoton said the suspect, who was already bringing along with him his personal data sheet, asked him if there was a vacancy for security guard in his firm. Escoton then asked him to sit for a while as he would go to the comfort room first to answer some personal necessities.

But when he came back to his office after almost 25 minutes, he was surprised that the suspect was no longer there. When he came to check his table's drawer, the cash was also not there anymore. He believed that the money was carted away by the suspect.

Police are now conducting a follow-up for his possible arrest.  (FREEMAN)
