Couple 'takes' bag with P100T cash
CEBU, Philippines - A call center employee and her live-in partner were arrested by the police Monday after they allegedly took a bag from a customer inside a restaurant in a North Reclamation Area mall in Mandaue City.
The suspects were identified as Jeah Marie Moreno, 28, and her live-in partner Medardo Zamora, 31, residents of Belmont Village, Barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla town, Cebu.
The arrest of the suspects was based of the complaint lodged by Don Paolo Gerardo Gandola Bernas, 38, a resident of Phase 3 Deca Homes, Barangay Tungkil, Minglanilla.
Bernas' complaint was supported by two witnesses Rarel Mondigo and Bebsie Grace Villarias Sala, service crews of the restaurant in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.
Witnesses said the suspects allegedly took the bag owned by Bernas placed at a chair while they were eating inside the establishment.
The bag reportedly contained P100,000 in cash and important documents, police said.
The suspects are presently detained at the Police Station 2 of the Mandaue City Police Office in Barangay Subangdaku awaiting the filing of formal charges against them in court. (FREEMAN)
