Trisikad driver stabbed

CEBU, Philippines - Along the road of Sitio Dumpsite, Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, an 18-year-old trisikad driver was stabbed by an unidentified suspect.

The victim was identified as Reolito Pison who is a native of Bohol and is currently a resident of Sitio Soong in the same barangay.

Initial investigation led by Police Officer Jade Querubin of Lapu-lapu City Police Office revealed that Pison was about to go home while driving his trisikad. Upon reaching a dim-lighted area, a stranger signaled Pison to stop and asked the victim where he lived.

The suspect was reported to be 25 to 30 years of age. Querubin added that the incident happened around 10:30 p.m.

Pison was about to reply when the suspect immediately stabbed him with a kitchen knife without any sign of hesitation. The victim gained wounds on his arm and left abdomen.

The suspect ran away from the scene leaving Pison wounded in the area. Pison was immediately rushed to the Lapu-lapu City District Hospital by the Bureau of Fire Protection personnel who saw the victim.

Police Station 2 is conducting an investigation for identification of the suspect. — (FREEMAN)
