2 fall in drug bust

CEBU, Philippines - Two people were arrested in a buy-bust operation Saturday night in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

The Cebu Anti- Illegal Drug Special Operations Group, led by Police Senior Inspector Rogelio Pineda Jr. with coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - 7, arrested drug users Fernando Pagobo, 34, married , a resident of Sitio Humay-humay in Barangay Gun-ob, and Tyron Saberon, 34, of Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. The operation was held around 8:40 p.m. Police confiscated from Pagobo's possession one medium pack of suspected shabu, two P100 bills and a 9mm pistol with one magazine loaded with four live ammunitions.

Meanwhile, recovered from Saberon's possession were five small packs of "prohibited" drugs.

Pagobo has a pending arrest warrant after he was reported to have escaped from a recent buy-bust operation in the city.

Police officers are conducting an investigation regarding the incident and on the recovered items.

A case will be charged against the two suspects for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
