Ormoc fugitive falls in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines - A man who is facing an attempted homicide case in Ormoc City, Leyte was arrested in Lapu-Lapu City Tuesday afternoon.

Ibrahim Bultiador Lapu-lapu, 48, a resident of Barangay Pajac, fell into the hands of the responding police officers due to an attempted homicide case arrest warrant issued by Judge Rene Romero of Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Ormoc City.

Lapu-lapu, for his part, did not resist police arrest.

Lapu-lapu was the Rajah Sultan (rank equivalent to governor) and proclaimed the overall leader of all the proclaimed 17 "datus" in the Muslim community.

He was one of the indigenous tribal leaders who attended the proclamation of tribal leaders in Barangay Pajac which was attended by almost 1,000 members of Muslim communities last January.  (FREEMAN)
