Christell Fatima Tudtud - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A barangay tanod was stabbed by two unidentified men Sunday dawn in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.

The victim was identified as Nicholas Oyao, 54, who lived in the same area. He worked as a barangay public safety officer in Pajac.

Police officer Luisito Ernie of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office reported that Oyao was about to go home with his cousin, Pedie Amet, for a drinking spree.

Upon reaching the dark part of the area, he turned on his flashlight and flashed it on two men.

After Oyao turned off his lights, the two suspects, believed to be 20 to 25 years old, armed with unidentified sharp weapon, immediately stabbed the barangay tanod with no apparent reason.

The victim asked for help from his workers at the barangay hall.  (FREEMAN)
