Vulcanizing shops urged to secure permits

Garry B. Lao - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City licensing officer Jane Enrile yesterday reminded vulcanizing shop operators to comply with the requirements set by the city government to facilitate the issuance of their business permits.

At present, Enrile admitted that most of the vulcanizing shop operators in the city have not complied with the requirements, thus their operations are deemed illegal.

“Sa tanang mga vulcanizing shops nga nag-operate dinhi sa dakbayan sa Talisay, duha lang ang nakalukat og business permit,” Enrile said. The license chief officer asked the support of the barangays to encourage the operators to get permit of their business.

Business owners or operators are required to first secure clearances and permits from the barangays before they can apply for a business permit from the city government.

Enrile stressed they will give the owners of the erring establishments enough time to secure their business permits before they will issue a notice to operators who are running their establishments without permits from the city government.

She said businesses that are found operating without licenses or permits from the city government are given 30 days to comply after the issuance of an official notice or warning.

“Amo na silang padad-an og notice ang mga tag-iya og vulcanizing shop aron pahinumdoman sila sa pagtuman sa mga lagda,” she added.

According to Enrile, there is an ordinance concerning the requirements for the operation of carwash and vulcanizing shops in the city.

She assured that the city government will issue the business permit once the requirements and standards set are met.  (FREEMAN)
