Metropolice: Trisikad driver waylaid, gunned

CEBU, Philippines - A trisikad driver was shot to death while transporting his two passengers last Thursday evening in Barangay Poblacion, Cordova town.

Romeo Luba, 32, sustained gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body which caused his instant death after he was waylaid and shot by one of the three unidentified men in Sitio Katura in Barangay Poblacion around 9 p.m.

Luba was waylaid by the suspects while travelling the unlighted portion of the said place. Without any provocation, suspect shot him several times which caused him to fall on the road while his two passengers were able to scamper away for safety.

The suspects hurriedly left the place and a hot pursuit operation was conducted by the Cordova police but failed to arrest the suspects.

Police are yet to determine the cause of his death but it was also known that the victim got himself into trouble with a neighbor last month.

Cordova Police found seven empty shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene. (FREEMAN)
