Groups who nabbed Swede 'cyberporn operator' recognized
CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Council yesterday congratulated the operatives of the PNP's Anti-Cybercrime Group Visayas Field Unit and Talisay City Police Station for arresting a Swedish national, who was suspected as cyberporn operator.
Christer Johansson, 60, was arrested by police authorities last Sunday at Cañezares Street, Barangay Dumlog, by virtue of a search warrant issued by the court.
Johansson was with two girls ages 14 and 15, who were residents of Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City and Barangay Lorega-San Miguel, Cebu City. Reports said that suspect would allegedly ask children to do lewd acts on camera.
City Councilor Danilo Caballero, the proponent of the resolution, said the city was very happy on the arrest of Johansson because his operation would tarnish the city's reputation as child friendly city.
"As nationally recognized child friendly city that promotes and protects the welfare of the children, it is appropriate to commend the elite groups and interconnecting agencies for a successful operation," Caballero, vice chairman of the committee on peace and order, said.
The operation was conducted using a search warrant issued last March 21 by Regional Trial Court Branch 8 Presiding Judge Macaundas Hadjirasul.
According to the warrant, there was a probable cause for Johansson is harboring minor girls for purposes of prostitution, sexual exploitation and child trafficking.
Seized from Johansson's possession were two laptops, two external hard drives, USB flash drive, USB camera, memory card, Samsung mobile phone and boxes of Chinese medicines believed to be sex enhancers. (FREEMAN)
