Mandaue extends grace period to business sector

Flor Z. Perolina - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - The Manduae City council has approved a resolution requesting Mayor Jonas Cortes and city treasurer Regal Oliva to grant the business sector in the city a grace period of six months within which to submit clearances from the SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig.

Clearances are necessary for the issuance of business permits and renewal of permits.

The resolution, as proposed by Councilor Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon, aims to give ample time to the business sector to submit the clearances.

She said the new policy will surely lure more investors to the city.

Before the resolution was approved, businessmen were given a standard time of two months to comply with the rule.

An administrative fine of up to P5,000 was imposed on a business for its failure to secure the clearances on time. — (FREEMAN)
