CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Councilor Aldrin Diaz is setting aside P50,000 from his legislative funds for the rehabilitation of a drainage system that stretches from E. H. Bascon Street to barangay Dumlog.
“It is high time and necessary that the rehabilitation should be put into priority so as to prevent untoward incident that may happen to our constituents in Dumlog,†Diaz said in his proposed resolution, which was approved by the city council yesterday.
Diaz will also ask the provincial government to set aside P200,000 for the proper drainage in the area.
Each councilor in Talisay was given P1 million in allocation from the city based on the general provision of the 2014 City General Fund.
Diaz said he has received word that residents complain about flooding and the subsequent mud whenever it rains because of the absence of a drainage system in the area. – (FREEMAN)
