Two women detained for alleged shoplifting

CEBU, Philippines - A pregnant woman and a companion were arrested Monday for alleged shoplifting at a mall in barangay Bakilid.
Arrested by non-uniformed security guards of SM Hypermart were seven months pregnant Jeniline Modina, 32, married, and companion Claire Dolendo, 31, single.
The alleged stolen items were found in a black bag Modina allegedly carried with her.
The women went out of the mall without transacting business at any of the counters.
Security guards approached the two women as they were about to board a multicab and were later turned over to the police.
Since the courts are in recess, the women will remain in detention until after New Year’s Day.
