Security guard arrested for breaking into house

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested last Monday a security guard at a subdivision in Mandaue City for allegedly breaking into a house in the same subdivision and stealing assorted jewelry worth P10,000.

Wilfredo Naranga, 24, of Sagbayan, Bohol who works as a security guard of Golden Sun Security Agency was arrested while at his post at Palm Heights Subdivision. 

Naranga was positively identified by a witness as the person responsible for the break-in.

According to P/Insp. Genilo Veraque, chief of the Basak police station, Naranga did not report for work last Sunday and instead broke into a house by destroying the doorknob of the main door to gain entry.

But a neighbor saw Naranga committing the crime.

Veraque said Naranga failed to open a vault where some more pieces of jewelry were kept. 

Naranga is now detained at the Basak police station pending the filing of a robbery case against him. – (FREEMAN)
