"Jealous" man kills wife

CEBU, Philippines -  A woman was stabbed dead yesterday dawn in Barangay Cotcot, Liloan town by her drunken husband allegedly because of jealousy.

Ricardo Yrog-irog, 43, surrendered the following day to the police after stabbing twice his wife Alicia Yrog-irog, 42.

SPO3 Marcelino Servilla said the couple used to quarrel especially when the suspect was drunk.

Last Friday, the couple quarreled again, where Ricardo hit Alicia, prompting the victim to seek a Barangay Protection Order against him.

Yesterday, at past 12 a.m., the man came home drunk once more and again quarreled with his wife.

Alicia ran outside towards the house of neighbor Maria Luz Badonio, but the husband gave chase and caught up with her.

Ricardo then stabbed her wife several times, hitting her on the abdomen and chest.

Badonio said her neighbor was able to utter the words "Gidunggab ko ni Ricky" before dying.

Charges will be filed against Yrog-irog.  (FREEMAN)
