Talisay councilor asks for ambulance, radios

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Councilor Aldin M. Diaz has asked the provincial government for an ambulance and 15 handheld radios for barangay Cansojong. 

In two separate resolutions, which will be discussed in today’s council session, Diaz said at present, the barangay has neither an ambulance nor a vehicle to render these services to the marginal sector. 

“ Barangay Cansojong is in dire need of an ambulance to enable it to be more responsive to deliver health services city-wide specially to remote areas and when emergency arises, such vehicle will be used to efficiently provide quality health assistance,” Diaz said. 

He also said an ambulance will be used in response to ailing residents needing quarantine. 

Meanwhile, the 15 handheld radios will be used during emergencies. 

“It needs to technically upgrade its present communication set-up in order to have faster and more efficient flow of information whenever needed. Obtaining a handheld radio communication system is one way of giving wider capacity of extending basic services to our constituents and will improve and beef-up the day-to-day operations especially during emergency calls,” he said.  (FREEMAN)
