Man allegedly shoots nephew, 23, to death

CEBU, Philippines - A 23-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by an uncle Thursday night at sitio Crusher, barangay Lawaan III, Talisay City.

Joseph Karl Fuentes Algabre who sustained a gunshot wound to the head was immediately taken to the Talisay City District Hospital but was transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

PO3 Benedicto Lasque told The Freeman yesterday that Algabre died past 9:00 p.m. on the same day at VSMMC.

Suspect Lovewyen Cabusas, 29, left the place after the crime was committed.

Algabre’s live-in partner told police Cabusas called out the victim and a few minutes later she heard a gunshot.

She said she found her live-in partner lying on the ground and bloodied.

Lasque said Cabusas was convicted with murder after shooting to death an uncle years ago.

He is under probation after spending nine years at the New Bilibid Prison.

Lasque said the police have received reports that Algabre was allegedly accused of  stealing money from relatives. (FREEMAN)
