Talisay, Lapu-Lapu generally peaceful

CEBU, Philippines -  The commemoration of All Saints Day yesterday in Talisay City and Lapu-Lapu City were generally peaceful.

Inspector Al Pascual, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station told The Freeman no untoward incident inside any cemetery was reported.

Pascual said everybody who visited cemeteries conformed to the rules and regulations.

 The city has public cemeteries in barangays Poblacion, Cansojong, and Tanke and two private cemeteries, namely, the Evergreen Memorial Garden in Cebu South Coastal Road in barangay San Roque and the Cebu South Memorial Garden in barangay Mohon.

In Lapu-Lapu City, no untoward incident was reported yesterday except for some people who were caught at a public cemetery in barangay Gun-ob trying to smuggle in liquor.

An augmentation force from the Philippine Air Force based at the Mactan Benito Abuen Air Base help police maintain peace and order.  (FREEMAN)
