Talisay traffic division registers 1,000 accidents in nine months

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City traffic division recorded almost 1,000 traffic accidents from January until September this year.

These accidents produced cases of homicide, damage to property, physical injury, damage to property with physical injury, injury to person, hit and run with damage to property, hit and run with physical injury, and others.

Within nine months, the traffic division recorded a total of 388 damage to property cases.

In same months, recorded were 236 cases involving damage to property with physical injury, 130 injured persons, 126 physical injury, 61 hit and run with damage to property, 28 hit and run with physical injury, 18 in other traffic accidents, and six homicide or traffic accidents that resulted to death.

Inspector Rodgene Fudotan, chief of traffic division said that out of six in homicide cases four were settled out of court while two cases were filed in the courts.

He said that on the 961 traffic accidents they recorded for nine months, 80 percent was settlement, 20 percent of the victims filed cases.

In hit and run cases, 20 were unsolved or that suspects did not surrender or were not identified. (FREEMAN)
