2 kids drown in deep well
CEBU, Philippines - Two children drowned Monday morning in a deep well in sitio Sawsawan, barangay San Roque, Talisay City.
The victims were identified as cousins Princess Natalie Sanchez and John Milfred Abillo, ages five and four.
They were to the Talisay City District Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
SPO1 Mikie Espina, PO1 Stephen Sefuesca, and PO1 Edwin Campomanes responded the incident.
Sefuesca told The Freeman that at around 8 a.m. the two children went out to play.
He said other children saw the cousins pushing each other and running around the fence that encloses the deep well.
The well has no cover and is six feet deep.
Neighbors found the children already dead at around 11 a.m., one was afloat while the other child was still submerged, Sefuesca said. — (FREEMAN)
