Alleged robber in Talisay killed
CEBU, Philippines - An alleged robber was shot to death Tuesday evening in sitio Hawod, barangay Bulacao in Talisay City, sustaining 8 gunshot wounds to the head and body.
Senior Inspector Al Pascual, deputy of Talisay City Police Station identified the dead man as Carl Eric Campo, alias “Negroâ€, of barangay Pooc, Talisay City.
The police found Campo lying on the road bathed in his own blood.
A piece of carton with the words “Tulisan ko (I am a thief)†written on it was found on top of his body.
The police said Campo was traveling on his motorcycle when an identified man shot him.
The police recovered from the crime scene an empty shell of a caliber .45 bullet, a deformed slug, and a live bullet of same caliber.
Superintendent Resty Santos, officer-in-charge of the Talisay City Police Station, told The Freeman Campo was allegedly involved in some robberies in the city.
Santos denied Campo was killed by a vigilante.
“Wala may vigilante sa Talisay. Dili ta moingon og vigilante,†Santos said. — (FREEMAN)
