Man dies in SRP road mishap
CEBU, Philippines - A 21-year-old man died on the spot after he was ran over by an oil tanker of Pryce Gas at the South Road Properties yesterday morning.
The incident happened past 10 a.m. in Barangay San Roque, Talisay City. PO3 Henry Diano of the city’s traffic division identified the victim as Jonathan Adesas, a resident of Barangay Dumlog, Talisay.
Initial investigation revealed that the two vehicles were travelling on same direction toward Cebu City. The motorcycle was reportedly on the “fast lane†or the left lane near the gutter.
The driver of the tanker, Felino Gutang, 55, told reporters he was on his way to the company’s plant in Sogod town in northern Cebu after he delivered LPG in Naga City.
Gutang said the motorcycle driven by Adesas tried to overtake his truck, but the motorcycle hit the gutter of the center island, fell to the ground, and Adesas was subsequently ran over by the truck.
Adesas was driving a black Honda motorcycle with temporary plate number MC-7TC-0-6613.
Diano said Adesas died owing to severe injury in the head. – (FREEMAN)
