“Hired gun” arrested

CEBU, Philippines - The police in Talisay City recently arrested a suspected hired gun at his home in barangay Lawaan III.

Arrested was Maldwin Cabusas, who is facing murder charges at the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 of Judge Gilbert Moises.

Superintendent Resty Santos, officer-in-charge of Talisay City Police Station, said Cabusas is one of two accomplices of notorious robber Joshua Tabera who was arrested months ago in barangay Lawaan III.

Santos said Cabusas and Tabera doubled as robbers.             The police are still looking for the other partner in crime.

Santos also said the three men are allegedly responsible for the shooting to death of the nephew of Senior Superintendent Audie Villacin years ago.

The three men are also facing frustrated murder charges for shooting and wounding Korean nationals early this year.

A tricycle driver was also injured in that incident. (FREEMAN)
