Stray bullet hits ABS-CBN worker

CEBU, Philippines - A man who works for a television network was taken to hospital for a wound on the leg after getting hit yesterday dawn by a stray bullet along the Northroad in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City.

Noeh Valle Bumarlong, 25, single, of sitio Hilltop, barangay Casili in Consolacion town was brought to the Cortes Hospital in Mandaue City and later transferred to Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City.

The police said the bullet also made a hole in the company’s car before hitting Bumarlong in his right leg.

SPO2 Marcos Noval Jr., investigator of the Investigative and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) said Bumarlong was on board the company’s Nissan Patrol car and was about to enter the ABS-CBN complex in barangay Jagobiao to report for work when a stray bullet hit the car, went through it, and hit Bumarlong.

The security guard at the time told police the shooting occurred when a motorcycle with two men on it were tailing and shooting at another motorcycle with also two men on it.

Noval said the police will also look into another  shooting  incident that took place in barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town where a habal-habal driver was shot .The habal-habal driver alleged he was shot because of jealousy.

However, the police said the driver may be hiding something and trying to hoodwink the police.  (FREEMAN)
