Talisay dad awaits funding from JVR for road project

CEBU, Philippines - The asphalting and drainage system project of E. H. Bacon Street stretching to the seashore in barangay Dumlog in Talisay City will get moving only when Mayor Johnny de los Reyes allocates funds for its implementation.

City Councilor Aldin Diaz, an ally of De los Reyes, has asked the mayor to allot funds for the rehabilitation on the existing barangay roads that traverse E. H. Bascon Street and the Dumlog seashore.

Diaz said the city through De los Reyes shall need to collaborate with the City Engineering Office for efficient and effective delivery of basic services, which includes the maintenance of the barangay roads and other necessary infrastructure.

“There is a dire need to rehabilitate the existing barangay roads to traverse along barangay E. H. Bascon Street  going to Dumlog seashore,” Diaz said, adding that it is high time that the rehabilitation should be put into priority so as prevent accidents in Dumlog,” he said.

Diaz also said constituents also complain about the mud and flooding of the road because of the absence of a drainage system.

“Some constituents fear accidents could happen because of the condition of the road,” he said. (FREEMAN)
