JVR questions sale of limestone

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Mayor Johnny De los Reyes will summon the owner of the contractor of the road widening project in barangay Lagtang to a meeting over the alleged sale of limestone taken from the road that is being widened.

One side of a mountain in Lagtang is being carved to widen the road.

The lime stone that is being removed is allegedly being sold by QM Builder without securing a permit from the city and PENRO.

The mayor will also meet with the village chief of the barangay, the head of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and officials of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO) and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). – (FREEMAN)
