Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - An unidentified woman believed to be in her 60s was found dead near a fish cage in the seawaters off barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City Monday afternoon.

Police believe the woman could have drowned in a flashflood as rains pelted metro Cebu over the weekend.

The woman when found was wearing a pair of brown shorts and a red shirt with the word “Phuket” written on it.

PSInsp. Zenaido Pastorfide Jr., chief of the homicide section, said a fisherman from barangay Punta Engaño discovered the body at around 3:00 p.m.

Pastorfide said no one in the barangay could identify the woman.

The police have subjected the body to an autopsy to determine the cause of death.  (FREEMAN)
