Foundations help build classrooms in Lapu-Lapu
CEBU, Philippines - The business sector in Lapu-Lapu City is steadily responding to calls for help by Mayor Paz Radaza to build more classrooms in the city.
Last week, the Sports City International Foundation turned over classrooms and a playground to the Babag II Elementary School.
The city government has also received pledges of donation from the Aboitiz Foundation and the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.
Radaza said the city government lacks funds to construct additional classrooms.
Radaza said the Special Education Fund of the city government does not have enough money for such an undertaking.
She instead challenged the private sector especially the business and industrial establishments in Lapu-Lapu City to help the city government.
The city mayor said education is one of the priorioty program under her administration. (FREEMAN)
