Durano-Meca, slate seek re-election in PCL
CEBU, Philippines - Incumbent president Carmen Remedios “Ivy†Durano-Meca, president of the Philippine Councilors League-Cebu Provincial Federation told The Freeman she will seek re-election in the PCL on July 29 as she and her slate paid courtesy calls to Mandaue City and Cordova town officials yesterday.
Mandaue City Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede led city councilors in welcoming Durano-Meca and her slate.
Mayor Jonas Cortes was in Manila yesterday to attend the State of the Nation Address of President Benigno “Noynoy†Aquino III.
During the meeting, Durano-Meca briefed Vice Mayor Bercede about the projects undertaken by her administration of the league and her plans and programs in the next three years.
According to Durano-Meca, she wants to continue her plans and programs to strengthen the relationships among city and municipal councilors in the province.
Bercede said Durano-Meca’s programs benefited the different barangays not only in Mandaue City but also in other barangays and cities in Cebu province.
Members of her slate are also seeking reelection.
The members include Talisay City Councilor Eduardo “Digul†Gullas III for vice president; Pinamungahan Municipal Councilor Jeffrey Anthony “Tonton†Yapha for Secretary-General; Sogod Municipal Councilor Gamaliel “Gamay†Lumapas for Treasurer; Samboan Municipal Councilor Irving “Irving†Gamallo for Auditor; Bogo City Councilor Geronimo “Yoyong†Almirante as Press Relations Officer; Consolacion Municipal Councilor Julius “Oyos†Alegado as Business Manager.
Running for members of the board of directors are Municipal Councilor Samuel “Sam†Moralde of Daanbantayan, Cebu; Councilor Neal “Neal†Vergara of Borbon, Cebu; Councilor Erwin “Wado†Gica of Dumanjug; Councilor Napoleon Enrique “Nap†Teves of Santander, Cebu; Councilor Emmanuel “Eman†Jo of Balamban, Cebu; Councilor Rajiv “Ajiv†Enad of Minglanilla, City Councilor Othello “Boy†Cjong of Naga City and City Councilor Nenita “Nene†Layese of Mandaue City.
