Wife beater arrested

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a man for beating his wife Wednesday evening following an argument over text messages in her cellular phone.

Bernard Badilles became furious when his wife Allanie, 33, refused to disclose the phone number of the sender of the messages.

Allanie was shaking and crying as she narrated her ordeal to the police in barangay Casuntingan, chief of the Casuntingan station Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos said.

She said it was the second time her husband had beaten her.

She sustained bruises in the head and body.

Badilles said he became suspicious when a neighbor told him his wife has a textmate.

The couple has four children.

Charges were filed against the husband yesterday.  (FREEMAN)
