RAFI, govt officials plant trees tomorrow
CEBU, Philippines - Officials of local government units in Metro Cebu will join tomorrow the Run to Plant, a tree planting activity initiated by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated.
The yearly activity will see RAFI and government officials plant trees at vacant private and government-owned lots.
In Consolacion town, Mayor Teresa Alegado will lead the activity which will start at 6 a.m. tomorrow.
Alegado has directed all department heads, regular and casual employees, barangay captains, councilors, and employees of the different national government agencies based in Consolacion to participate in the planting.
The old dumpsite in the town will be one of the venues for the planting, Alegado said.
Alegado said the town's mountain barangays are already denuded and replanting is important. (FREEMAN)
