“Jealous” woman shoots hubby dead

CEBU, Philippines - A 41-year-old woman shot dead her husband the other night in sitio Cambiohan, barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City on suspicion he was carrying an affair with another woman.

Editha Suliano, arrested for the death of Samuel Espinosa Suliano, 47, faces a parricide case.

The Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital declared the man dead.

PO2 John Carlo Jocutan said the couple quarreled over a masculine name that was in the man’s phone directory which the woman suspected belonged to another woman she assumed was her husband’s mistress. 

Jocutan said the husband had denied the allegation.

The couple’s daughter said she heard her parents quarreling inside their room before hearing a gun go off.

Relatives found Samuel bleeding from a wound on the neck.

The wife said she knew where her husband hid his gun.

Police found a loaded .38 cal. revolver and two empty cartridges at the crime scene.

The couple has nine children, the youngest being one year old.   (FREEMAN)
