Parents, students warned vs criminals

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The police in Mandaue City have advised students and parents to take precautions against criminals who are presumed to take advantage of the opening of classes.

Chief Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes, chief of Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) in Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), said these criminals are aware most students carry money for refreshments or tuition.

Bastes recommends that parents pay the tuition themselves.

He also frowns on students carrying or showing off expensive gadgets in public.

“Unta ang mga ginikanan kay dili nila palitan ang ilang mga anak ug mahalon nga gamit ba pero kung dili naa man gani jud dili na lang nila isaya-saya ang ilang mga gamit,” he said.  (FREEMAN)
