Talisay job orders fear losing work

Brenda Batuto - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Some Talisay City hall job order workers are afraid their contracts won’t be renewed when the newly-elected officials assume their functions on July 1.

City hall presently has in its employ more than 1,000 job orders and most of them are under the quota system of outgoing officials.

Some of them have been with city hall for more than three years and their contracts will end on June 30.

Newly elected Mayor Johnny Delos Reyes has however assured city hall department heads will not be reshuffled and that he will not fire job orders.

But he warned department heads he will not hesitate to transfer them if they become uncooperative.  (FREEMAN)
