Carjacker strikes in Talisay City

CEBU, Philippines - A medical representative and his friend lost over P100,000 cash and expensive sunglasses to an unidentified carjacker in Barangay Linao, Talisay City last Monday afternoon.

Jonathan Royo, 38, resident of Barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla, Cebu, was with his friend Alan Yap, a businessman, when the unidentified armed man approached his parked Toyota Revo and pointed a handgun at them.

The carjacker, who covered his face with a cloth, drove Royo's car towards Camella Homes in Lawaan I, Talisay City where the car was abandoned. Royo was able to trace the location of his car because of a tracking device in his cellphone which he purposely left inside the car when the carjacker commandeered the vehicle from him.

While the victim was able to recover his car but he lost P30,000 cash while his friend lost P151,000 cash and Oakley sunglasses worth P8,500.  (FREEMAN)
